It appears that at least two losing candidates in the Nov. 5 election haven’t been soured by politics.
Don Tucci, the Republican who lost to Democrat Kathy Dahlkemper for county executive, and Republican Joseph Kujawa, who lost his bid for a fourth term as Millcreek supervisor to Democrat John Groh, were among the supporters attending Gov. Tom Corbett’s news conference Wednesday in Erie.
Corbett made Erie the last stop on his weeklong tour of Pennsylvania cities as he formally announced his bid for re-election to a second term.
Corbett spoke to about 80 people gathered in a second-floor meeting room, overlooking Presque Isle Bay, at the Bayfront Sheraton Hotel.
Before the governor spoke, taking the stage for a few comments were: Jean Craige Pepper Victor, president of the Erie County Republican Women; Joyce Haas, vice chairwoman of the Pennsylvania Republican Party; and Susan Corbett, the governor’s wife.
Susan Corbett said about her husband, “It’s not about ego or power for Tom. It’s about making a difference.”
